The Monorail System
Walt Disney World's Monorail system was introduced on the Grand Opening of the Magic Kingdom. It provided transportation from a few of the hotels to the Magic Kingdom. In the late 80's early 90's the Mark IV Monorails. The new model monorail included automatic doors, and larger cabins, and was longer.
Today, the Monotail System Travels to 2 of the 4 parks, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and a few of Disney's Deluxe Resorts, such as the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
One monorail takes you to the resorts, and the Magic Kingdom. That same monorail also takes you to the "Ticketing and Trasnportation Center" where you would get off and take the other monorail to EPCOT.
The monorail doesn't only serve as a transportation source, but also as a tour. Along your journey to the resorts or parks, the narrator gives you details about each place you go too. Also, the sites are great, it's a nice way to get around Disney World.

Boats and Busses
Another way to get to EPCOT is to take a boat! The boat also takes you to a few resorts itself, the Yacht and Beach and the Swan and Dolphin. Not only does it serve as a means of transportation, but the two people in charge of each boat also do some stand up comedy! So as you're on your way to the resorts or EPCOT, you get a small show on the boat!
Now, to get to the Animal Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood studios, you have to take a bus. Each hotel has a bus stop, well atleast I think most of them do.
Now, a lot of hotels don't have the monorail or even the boat system. I'm not too informed right now on how other hotels get to the parks. Of course they would take the bus, but I'm not sure if they would have to get off at one of the stops and take a boat or another bus. As soon as I find further information I will post it.
