Brief History/Attractions
Epcot opened it's gates on October 1st, 1982, about 11 years after the opening of the Magic Kingdom.
EPCOT stands for the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomrrow. Don't take that phrase loosely, it's all about invention, imagination, and innovation.
There are two parts that make up EPCOT, Future World, and the World Showcase.
Future world is all about the innovations and ideas for tomorrow. Take a ride on the newly refurbished "Spaceship Earth" and travel through time to see how far we have come, from the invention of the wheel, to the creation of new, high tech, technologies. You'll take a trip through other countries, learning about art, and cultures, and travel in through the 50's with the invention of the television, than the 80's with the invention of the computer, and the home computer. Than, go right into the future, your touch screen computer integrated into the omnimover seats. It will ask you some questions, and than it will build your future. Watch as your face appears on the characters body (takes your picture before you start traveling through time).
Take a ride with.. well.. Ellen Degeneres! In "Ellen's Energy Adventure!" in the Universe of Energy Pavillion. Take a ride with Ellen as she discovers the importance of energy, and the conservation of energy. Energy isn't something Ellen thinks is important, when she ends up on her favorite game show "Jeoprody" she wishes she knew everything to know about energy. Luckily Bill Nye the Science guy accompanies her in her travel through time, from the dinosaurs, to modern times.
Now, I know what your thinking you think that these rides seem boring. Well, they're not. They are probably some of the best rides you can find throughout Disney World. But if you're in for a thrill, maybe you should check out, Test Track!
Test Track is, well not like any other ride in Walt Disney World. It's a ride about... Cars! As you wait online to get to the ride you basically get to see what your car goes through before it hits the streets, like safety testing, and crash testing. Once you get into your car, it takes you up a hill and onto some tests that your car would normally go through before it hits the streets. You go through bumps, tight turns, drastic change in weather (hot, cold, humid). And once you finish through those tests, your ready for the crash test speed test. You reach a speed of 65 miles per hour, making Test Track the fastest ride in Walt Disney World!
Not Only is there Future World, but than there is the World Showcase. It features 11 countries:
In each country you can dine, shop, or even ride on a ride! Each resturant is fit to fill the theme of the Country. My favorite resturant, is in Italy, it's called
L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante

Electric UmbrellaLocation: Innoventions East
Price: Reasonable
Food: Fast food location where you can get anything from hamburgers, chicken fingers, salads and sandwiches. Most are reasonably priced for under .00 each. Beer can be bought by the glass and sodas are available.
Rose and CrownLocation: Britain
Price: Reasonable
Food: Authentic English food such as the fish and chips can be bought for under .00. Full bar is available, English ale, and sodas are available also.
Boulangerie PátisserieLocation: France
Price: Reasonable
Food: Authentic French pastries and desserts that two can share. Cream filled pastries, fresh coffee, and quiches are the specialty when traveling to this tucked away dessert-lovers dream.

Illuminations Fireworks
Illuminations is a fireworks show in Epcot like no other. It features music and narration from some Disney Movies, but what's very awesome about it is that theres a HUGE globe with millions and millions of little LED's on it, and it projects images and movies of the world. The show takes place in the World Showcase Lagoon. Below I will post a video of the show.
